iComic is back and friendlier than ever! Introducing iComic Dashboard Edition. Now you can get your favorite comics as Dashboard widgets and spread them over your desktop, then dismiss them all with a single keystroke.

iComic 4.0 Dashboard Edition - Features
  • Your favorite comics can now cover your desktop like newspaper clippings.
  • Plugins can collect comments from the comic site (such as the title the author gave to the strip). The comments are attached to the image. If you remember the text you are looking for, you can find the image using Spotlight!
  • Use the turn-up corners to navigate between strips.
  • Calendar view lets you quickly navigate to a specific date.
  • Now uses JavaScript for plugins instead of Perl. This makes iComic plugins fully trustworthy while also making them easier to write.
  • Each plugin can provide convenient web links to the comic's homepage, online store etc.
  • Copy a comic to the clipboard (to paste into email etc.). You can also save it as an image to your Desktop.
  • You can display comics with an optional push-pin - several pin colors are available!
  • [New in v4.0.9] Automatically updates the strips hourly, jumping to the latest strip automatically if one is found
  • [New in v4.0.9] Now picks a random comic and pushpin when you first add an iComic widget to the desktop
  • [New in v4.0.10] Comics over 600px high will now show scrollbars to help prevent the preferences panel from being off the screen when you flip the comic over

iComic requires MacOS X 10.4 or later.

The reason it's not working on Leopard is that the iComic.html file inside the widget is in UTF-16 big endian which miraculously prevents the stylesheet from loading. Convert that to UTF-8 and everything fill be fine. I'll send a fixed version to the author.
